Where shall I start about then-lifestyle of teens – well let me start with naming of the word teenager which took place in 40’s, until then the dictionary didn’t have the word ‘teen’.

World War II: World War 2 had impact on everyone especially on the teenagers, whose life was just shaping then. No pizzas, no burgers, no junk food, no diets because there were accurate shortage for even getting two square meals per day was a great deal. People were trading the food coupons as we do now in the monopoly game.
Entertainment sector: The teenage magazines were born in this era for the first time, while the first magazine was Seventeen Magazine, its production started in 1944. Many other magazines like teen vogue followed the line later on, catering to the needs of the teen. Movies were watched once a week, radios were much in vogue in those days with teenagers.
Education sector: the education mode for girls then was dress making, laundry, beauty culture etc. Whereas boy’s education line mainly revolved around the physical education, like baseball etc. Apart from that few commercial and technical courses evolved. There were even family life, hygiene and health part of the curriculum.
Mannerism: The teen then were not allowed to swear, as commonly and easily as it is done today, it was not manners, especially in front of women and kids. Doing drugs was rare, teenagers then didn’t have enough pocket money, and getting hold of the drugs was a herculean task. Girls were better – mannered, concept of dating or LSD did not exist, and girls used to reach home earlier!
All in all life as a teen in the 1940s mainly evolved and ran around the set-up of world war. The atmosphere was tense; hence though lightness of being teenager was there, they were more responsible.
